About This Project

By car:

There is no road for cars as connection between the island of Sylt and the mainland. To reach the island by car, you have to take the car-train (Autozug) of the Deutsche Bahn or the Syltferry (Syltfähre) from the danish island Rømø/ Port Havneby to List on Sylt.

DB Autozug – Syltshuttle

The DB Autozug leaves from Niebüll (Kurt-Bachmann-Ring 2, 25899 Niebüll) to Westerland.

Syltfähre/Ferry from Denmark to Sylt

(Havneby <-> List)

Secure your transfer on board of Ferry “SyltExpress” in advance and avoid waiting times. Book your tickets online or call +49-461 864-601.

By train:

Many German cities are directly connected with the Westerländer railroad station. Simply take one of the regional trains of the Deutsche Bahn or the Nord-Ostsee-Bahn. There is nearly one train connection between Hamburg an Westerland per hour. If you start in Hamburg Altona, you can use the Schleswig-Holstein-Ticket.

Find your connection here.
